‘The only hope that saved a team in crisis’ Kershaw pitches seven shutout innings, 9 Ks as Dodgers escape fourth straight loss

Kershaw was Kershaw. The Los Angeles Dodgers snapped a four-game losing streak behind ace Clayton Kershaw, 35.

Kershaw pitched seven innings of five-hit ball with two walks and nine strikeouts against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, USA, on 9 September. Behind Kershaw, the Dodgers snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-0 victory.

Kershaw walked leadoff hitter Kevin Newman in the top of the first inning, but got out of the inning on just nine pitches with a strikeout and a flyout. In the second, he gave up a leadoff single to Eli De La Cruz and a subsequent stolen base to put runners on the corners, but he got out of the jam with two strikeouts and a grounder.먹튀검증

Kershaw got a strikeout and a grounder to load the bases in the third, then gave up a double to Newman to put runners in scoring position once again, but struck out the next batter, Matt McLain, to end the inning. The fourth inning ended with a triple play. In the fifth, Kershaw was briefly shaken by a hit and a walk, but he got Newman to ground out to end the threat.

The biggest threat came in the sixth. Back-to-back singles to McLain and Jonathan India put runners on first and third with no outs, but Kershaw was unflappable. He got De La Cruz to ground out, Spencer Steer to fly out, and Tyler Stephenson to strike out to end the inning.

Kershaw returned to the mound in the seventh and worked a three-hit shutout inning on 10 pitches before retiring the side.

Kershaw has now pitched seven innings and nine strikeouts in two consecutive games, including the last three against the New York Yankees. He continues to lead the Dodgers’ starting rotation with a team-high eight wins (four starts) and a 2.95 ERA in 13 appearances this season.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers snapped a three-game losing streak with a Kershaw win-loss-loss-loss-loss-loss-loss-loss Kershaw win to improve to 36-27 on the season and remain in second place in the National League West.
