Kershaw’s dream to play first base in Japan, even though “his wife won’t approve”?

The Los Angeles Dodgers’ “eternal ace” Clayton Kershaw has revealed a dream he’s been hiding. Whether it will ever come true remains to be seen.

Kershaw recently appeared on a podcast hosted by his Dodgers teammate Mookie Betts. Betts asked Kershaw, “When your career in the major leagues is over, what do you want to do next?” Kershaw replied, “Actually, it’s kind of interesting. I’d like to play first base in Japan in the future,” he revealed.

“I played with two guys from Japan. Hiroki Kuroda and Kentada Maeda. They both told me, ‘If you want to play first base in Japan, you can always do it,'” he added.스포츠토토

Kershaw is one of the biggest stars in Major League Baseball and an iconic player for the Dodgers. Of course, he’s hit an aging curve in recent years and isn’t as dominant as he was in his prime, but the name “Kershaw” still means a lot.

When Betts asked Kershaw about his dreams, he said, “I’m surprised he can be a good hitter,” and Kershaw said, “I’m not sure if I can hit, but I think it would be a lot of fun to play first base.” It seems that their interest and curiosity in first base defense outweighs their goals as hitters.

Of course, his family’s opinion is important when it comes to playing in Japan. Kershaw laughed, “My wife, Ellen, probably wouldn’t approve, but I think we’re a fun family,” and when Betts said, “If she doesn’t go, you can’t go,” they agreed, “It’s just the way it is.”

Kershaw’s dream may come true in the distant future, or in the not-so-distant future.
