Cruz is a slugger who has been selected as an All-Star seven times and has received the Silver Slugger Award four times for the best hitter in each position. In particular, he is showing off unchanging power even at the age where he has passed the age of immortality. In the 2021 season, he had a batting average of 0.265, 32 home runs, and 86 RBIs. Last year, he appeared in 124 games for the Washington Nationals, posting a batting average of 0.234, 10 homers and 64 RBIs.
Cruz is expected to solve the problem of San Diego, which used 13 people for the designated hitter last year.
