Boston creates first-ever ‘reverse sweep’ atmosphere in sweep crisis

The atmosphere in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Eastern Conference Finals is electric.

The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 110-97 in Game 5 of the 2022-23 NBA Eastern Conference Finals (best-of-seven) on 26 June at TD Garden in Massachusetts, USA. Boston, which finished second in the Eastern Conference, was in danger of being swept by eighth-place Miami after losing Games 1-3 of the series. However, they bounced back to win Game 4 and then Game 5. Game 6 between the two teams will take place on 28 April at Miami’s home ice, the Casey Center.먹튀검증

Boston dominated the game. After a 35-20 first quarter, the Celtics finished the first half up 61-44. The Celtics trailed 28-29 in the third quarter, but maintained their lead throughout the fourth quarter and cruised to a 13-point victory. Four players scored 20 or more points, including Jaylen Brown (21), who had struggled early in the series, along with big men Jayson Tatum (21), Derrick White (24) and Marcus Smart (23). Centre Al Horford helped out by grabbing 11 rebounds (five offensive). Miami was unable to overcome the first quarter deficit. Being held to 14 points by star Jimmy Butler hurt, as did the team’s 16 turnovers (to Boston’s nine).

No team in NBA history has ever completed a “reverse sweep” in a best-of-seven series. After dropping Game 3 in a blowout, Boston was expected to be eliminated in four games, but they came alive in Game 4. The energy level on the court changed as Tatum’s scoring arsenal began to click alongside Brown. “You see the true character of a person, a team, when things aren’t going your way,” said Tatum, who recorded his first double-digit assists (11) of the postseason. We have the ability to come together and solve problems when things aren’t going well.”

Miami leads the best-of-three series, but the mood is off. “We’re always going to stay positive,” Butler said, “We’re going to win this series. We’re going to win this series, and we’re going to do it at home.”
